Spring Game Updates


The annual University of Minnesota Spring Football Game is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. The Spring Game will be held at TCF Bank Stadium and admission is free.

In addition to seeing the Gopher football team take part in a scrimmage for its last day of the spring practice season, the day will include plenty of activities before and after.

Surface parking lots around the stadium will open at 11 a.m. for tailgating. The following parking lots: Minnesota, Ski-U-Mah, Maroon, Gold, Lot 33, Lot 37 will each allow tailgating. Parking will also be available in the Oak Street and 4th Street ramps. There will be a $10 fee to park in these lots and ramps.

Prior to the Spring Game, there will be interactive games, face-painting, free posters and schedule cards and other activities on the West Plaza. Floyd of Rosedale is also scheduled to make an appearance at the West Plaza to pose for pictures with fans.

The gates to TCF Bank Stadium will open at 11:30 a.m. The team is scheduled to arrive atBig Ten Networkthe stadium around 12:30 p.m., with warm-ups beginning on the field at 12:45 p.m. Practice will begin at 1:10 p.m., with the scrimmage starting shortly thereafter.

Following the scrimmage, players and coaches will be available on the field for a 30-minute autograph session.

For those who are unable to make it out to TCF Bank Stadium for the scrimmage, the KFAN logoGopher Radio Network and new flagship station KFAN 1130 AM will be broadcasting from the event from 1:30-4 p.m. In addition, the Spring Game will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network website, www.bigtennetwork.com. The game will then be televised on the Big Ten Network on a tape-delayed basis on Sunday at 6 p.m. CT.

 


If you have not already RSVP please do so now. So far we have 112 adults and 12 children attending the spring game BBQ. 


In order to make the BBQ flow smoothly

Spring is in the air and Gopher Football spring practice is in full swing.  There are a number of great events coming up that should be on your calendar.

The Gopher Football Youth Clinic will now be held on Friday, April 22 at TCF Bank Stadium. The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., with registration running through 6:30. From 6:30-7:30 p.m., kids will be taking part in skills and drills with Gopher football players. An autograph session for all kids in attendance will be held from 7:30-8 p.m. The Gopher Football Youth Clinic is free for boys and girls, ages 7-13. Entrance to TCF Bank Stadium for this event will be at the Lake of the Woods County sign. Pre-registration for this event is encouraged. Pre-register by visiting www.mygophersports.com or by calling the Gopher Athletics Ticket Office at 612.624.8080, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Kids are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes for this active event. A Participant Release of Liability Form is required to take part. It can be downloaded from the Youth Clinic page at www.mygophersports.com."


The Gopher Football Spring Game is scheduled for Saturday, April 23rd.  The game will begin at 1:00 pm, but please join our GLC Tailgate with food and beverages beginning at 11:00 am.  This will be on the plaza of Williams Arena.  Please pre-register by Thursday, April 21st to help us order the right amount from the caterer, Moe's On the Go.


Maroon and Gold Members are invited to an exclusive Chalk Talk with Offensive Coordinator Matt Limegrover and Defensive Coordinator Tracy Claeys on Thursday, May 26th.  This event will be at Mancini's in St. Paul from 5:00 - 7:30 pm.


Register now for one of our Annual GLC Golf Tournaments.  The first is at StoneRidge Golf Club in Stillwater on Wednesday, June 8th and the other is at the Alexandria Golf Course on Monday, June 27th.  Both tournaments have a noon shotgun start.  Be the first to pick from many Gopher Football "celebrities" to golf with your group.
